Cambodia Vietnam Border-Bave,November 2014

Cambodia Vietnam Border-Bave,November 2014
Bavet Cambodia Vietnam Border,November 2014 On the trip to visit Vietnam, KamboTour team is at check-in point at Bavet, border between Cambodia and Vietnam. At the moment of money exchange at the border, we take time to take a video, as you can see backward to west, you can see the GoodLuck Casino-Hotel... Bavet is an international border gate belonging to Svay Rieng province, Cambodia. Its counterpart across the border is Moc Bai, Vietnam. Bavet belongs to one of the poorest provinces of Cambodia. Actually, its only economic resource is its position on NH1, on the straight way between Ho Chi Minh City and Phnom Penh.

Wikipedia: Cambodian side of international border of Bavet
Bavet is one of the "special economic zones" (SEZ) of Cambodia and there were established textile industries and bicycles factories. However the most evident economic activity of Bavet are the casinos, attended by Vietnamese. In accordance with decentralization politics experienced by Cambodian government, Bavet commune has become a municipality by sub-decree in December 2008. There are about 10–12 (from small to big size) casinos and 6 to 7 developing areas set up by foreign investors. The city is in a growing state. The 2km-long Neak Loeang bridge funded by Japan has been finished in April, 2015. It is the longest bridge in Cambodia.

Cambodia’s Angkor Wat Tops the World’s List Thrice

Cambodia’s Angkor Wat Tops the World’s List Thrice

The famous Angkor Wat Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the symbol of Cambodia, was crowned champion in three different competitions conducted by world’s travel websites, according to a senior official of the Authority for the Protection and Management of Angkor and the Region of Siem Reap (APSARA).

According to Mr. Sok Sangvar, Deputy Director General of the APSARA Authority, the Temples of Angkor have recently won the No. 1 global must-see spot on the Lonely Planet’s Ultimate Travel List 2015 because it is the “perfect harmony of creative ambition and spiritual devotion.”

In the same year, he added, the Angkor Wat Temple, appearing on the Cambodian national flag, has been also crowned the No. 1 world landmark in the 2015 TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Landmarks Awards.

In 2014, Angkor Wat came out on top in a ArchaeoMadness competition organized by the Archeological Institute of America to mark the International Archeology Day, he underlined.

Mr. Sok Sangvar attributed Angkor Wat’s success to the efforts of the Royal Government of Cambodia, APSARA Authority, private sector and other relevant parties, as well as people and local and foreign tourists.

Located among the lush tropical forests of Cambodia, Angkor Wat was a 9th-15th century Khmer capital as well as an artistic and architectural icon. //Source: AKP,September 04, 2015

More About Neak Loeurng Bridge:
Neak Loeung bridge, located in Kandal province about 60 kilometers from Phnom Penh capital through National Road (NR) No. 1, the construction of the bridge of 2,215 meters long and its approach road with the length of 3,100 meters cost some 119.4 million Japanese Yen, equivalent to US$127 million. Neak Loeurng bridge put into official use on April 6, 2015 under the presidency of Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

According to a press release of the Embassy of Japan, Tsubasa Bridge(Neak Loeurng bridge) will link not only NR.1 at both sides of the Mekong River, but also all countries in the region. It will make the road have enough capacity to support transportation in the region and to meet the policy on the connection of the ASEAN Highways or GMS Highways. It is expected to significantly contribute to promoting economic growth/changes and livelihood development of citizens living along the road through internal integration, and regional and global integration. The road and bridge play as a part of Asia and ASEAN Highway 1, which could grab the opportunity to increase revenue from the competition, trade, tourism, industry, agriculture, health, security, job opportunity, etc.

Furthermore, after the completion of the bridge, the travel time and transportation cost will be significantly reduced, which provide huge benefits to people and business activities not only for those living along the road and bridge, but also for all Cambodian people and ASEAN countries, it added.

Beside Tsubasa Bridge, Japanese government has also funded the construction of the Cambodia-Japan Friendship Bridge, or better known as Chroy Chongvar Bridge in Phnom Penh capital and the Kizona Bridge in Kampong Cham province.

In addition, Japanese government has been providing grant aids for construction of NR.1 from Phnom Penh to Neak Loeung, which three stages (Stage 1, 2, & 3) were already completed and the remaining Stage 4 (4 kilometers) will start the construction soon, expectedly from this April 2015, pointed out the press release.

Japanese government also provides ODA Loan to upgrade NR.5 from Prek Kdam to Poipet and Sihanoukville Port Multi-purpose Terminal Development, and commenced Feasibility Study for the Expressway Construction from Phnom Penh to Bavet, it concluded. //By C. Nika,Source: AKP
